Happy New Year! As we welcome 2021 and reflect on 2020, we can all agree that 2020 sucked. The pandemic has caused a lot of stress and anxiety and for many of us, our careers and lives were put on pause. However, the pandemic has also allowed us to stop, be still, and reflect on our lives.
Risa experienced tremendous loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but she also gained a tremendous amount of introspection on her goals career-wise and in life. While 2020 was a very stressful time, it forced Risa to halt everything and be still. Because her life was put on pause, she had more time to spend with her husband and daughter. That is an amazing gift to be thankful for! Pre-Covid-19, many of us wouldn’t have had as much time to be with family both physically and virtually. In years past, family zoom calls didn’t exist. Thanks to Zoom, Facetime, and Skype, Risa and many people have been able to reconnect with relatives and friends from all over the country.
Hitting the pause button also allowed Risa to re-focus on what she wants career-wise and with her life. Unfortunately, Risa lost her job of 7 years traveling around the world directing episodes of House Hunters International in March at the beginning of the pandemic. However, she was able to shift her focus to growing the Modern Aging YouTube channel. The Modern Aging channel was created to provide information, provide hope, to share stories in mid-life who are interested in holistic health and well-being.
Risa shares a total of 10 life lessons that only a pandemic could teach her in the YouTube video linked above. I hope that she inspires you to reevaluate your health, your life, your well-being.
